About us

The Penny Saver Weekly News was started in 1947.
Originally the Penny Saver Weekly News was started in 1947 by Tex and Georgia LaGrange. The Penny Saver was purchased by Lois Brown in 1959. The current owners Linda B. Hope and Gail Hope took over the Penny Saver from Lois Brown in 1984. Linda (Barnhart) Hope was an employee out of high school and wrote her own column "Teen Scene" and helped in advertising and anything that came her way. Linda left the Penny Saver in 1963 to raise a family and came back in 1982 to help with the Penny Saver again. Linda brought in her daughter Gail to help with the Penny Saver in 1984.
